COCo is hiring for 2 positions!The Centre for Community Organizations (COCo) needs YOU! We are currently accepting applications for the following positions: 1) A Coordinator with a focus on supporting community groups, strategic alliances and funding development. This job entails coordinating the development of COCo’s funding, facilitating and training organizations using the COCo approach, organizing our facilitator community of practice and developing strategic alliances. We are looking for someone with a solid social justice / community work background who has experience in grant-writing, program development and evaluation, and facilitation / training. Read the full description here! 2) A Communications and Engagement Coordinator tasked with general communications and outreach activities, social media upkeep, content writing, member database management, and the implemention of a communications strategy. A solid social justice/ community work background, bilingualism, as well as skills in graphic design, web development, and communications and ICT planning for community groups are musts for this position. |

Girls Action Foundation presents Amplify: Designing & Facilitating Spaces & Programs for GirlsAre you looking for an opportunity to gain new tools and resources that would strengthen your facilitation skills in gender sensitive programs from a social justice perspective? If you are currently facilitating girls’ programs and want to build skills in a variety of areas, this training is for you! Informed by Girls Action Foundation’s expertise and by girls’ organizers across the country, this training involves: designing programs, creating empowering spaces for girls and young women, and developing workshops and facilitation skills. The Amplify Training is also an opportunity to deepen understanding of popular education and anti-oppression and to build a community of support while sharing resources and strategies. Organization Unbound presents a new short film : ‘Changing the way we change the world’Organization Unbound – founded by former COCo staffer Tana Paddock – has just released a new short film entitled ‘Changing the way we change the world’ around expressive organisational change. This 16-min film is intended as a conversation starter for staff, volunteers, board members and funders of social purpose organizations. Through a compilation of crowd-sourced interviews, it challenges us to pay closer attention to the link between an organisation’s social purpose and how that purpose is lived inside the organization on a daily basis.
