The CCR is seeking a person for a full-time 9-month contract position to assist in the organizing of an international conference, and to perform other administrative tasks, including to support a national conference.
Principal responsibilities
To support the planning and organization of an international conference (Toronto, June 2018) in the areas of:
international promotion
coordination of planning committees and updating of work plans
workshop planning
management of travel subsidies
registrations
other administrative tasks related to conference planning
To support the Office Manager with various administrative tasks, such as:
preparing bank deposits
invoicing/receipting
answering the main telephone
managing conference registrations
Qualifications
Candidate must be eligible for Emploi Québec’s Wage Subsidy program. Other qualifications:
English / French (other languages an asset)
Excellent organizational skills
Experience organizing events an asset (including experience gained outside Canada)
Good communication skills
Facility with computer/internet
Able to work autonomously and in collaboration
Knowledge of refugee/human rights issues an asset
Commitment to human rights, social justice and anti-oppression.
Based at the CCR office in Montreal. Reports to the Office Manager.
$15/hour, 35 hours per week
