When a nation-wide uprising breaks out in 1987, Naila Ayesh, a woman in Gaza, undauntedly joins a clandestine network of women in a movement that forces the world to recognize the Palestinian right to self-determination for the first time. NAILA AND THE UPRISING is a remarkable tribute to the women activists who built the infrastructure for economic independence for women and self-sufficiency for Palestinians under Israeli occupation, and a chronicle of their role in the First Intifada.

After the last Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, once the bombing had stopped, the reality of the conflict mostly disappeared from the media. The forceful doc takes us to GAZA as we witness the daily human rights violations in the occupied territories, and as we journey through the cities, the people, and the history of the Gaza Strip under the occupation of Israel

Le film trace le récit remarquable de l’activiste palestinienne Naila Ayesh, qui s’entrelace à celui de la mobilisation pacifique la plus vibrante de l’histoire de la Palestine: la première Intifada.
Lorsqu’un soulèvement populaire national éclate en 1987, elle se joint à un réseau clandestin de femmes dans un mouvement qui forcera le monde à reconnaître pour la première fois le droit à l’auto-détermination de la Palestine. Le documentaire est un voyage à Gaza dans lequel nous sommes témoins des violations des droits humains qui persistent tous les jours, et le film nous transporte au coeur des villes, du peuple et de l’histoire de la Bande de Gaza sous occupation israélienne.
