Client Relations and Marketing Coordinator @ Open North

Are you passionate about increasing citizen participation in democracy? Want to be part of a dynamic team in the field of open government and citizen engagement?

Open North has an opening for a detail-oriented individual who is obsessed with client satisfaction and comfortable in a technology-based environment to launch customized online engagement websites for governments, school boards, non-profits and others. In their available time, the successful candidate will assist with sales and/or marketing support to find and qualify potential customers.

Preference will be given to candidates who are able to work in our central Montreal office but remote applications will be considered as well. The successful candidate has superb customer relations experience and strong attention-to-detail. Also important, is a positive, problem-solving attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong listening ability, team-work, and communication skills are highly desirable traits.

We offer a dynamic, flexible and fun work environment, with an opportunity to contribute to the growing transparency and online engagement world, with one of Canada’s dynamic non-profits. This is currently a permanent, part-time position. No work is expected to take place outside of office hours.

Key responsibilities:
-Work with Open North’s clients, developers and business manager to build customized online budget consultations;
-Guide clients through the fulfillment process, suggesting improvements to the design of the questionnaire and the choice of questions;
-Act as the primary contact for their questions and requests, and advising on best practices to achieve a successful consultation;
-Coordinate marketing, communication plans;
-Ensure that e-blasts and website information is up-to-date;
-Assist sales prospecting activities;
-Monitor, review and report marketing activity and results.

The selected candidate needs to be available to be trained on how to build online budget consultations during the week of April 24-28.

Required qualifications/experience:
-Extensive client-facing experience
-Basic knowledge of CSS/HTML
-Sales prospecting experience, preferably B2B
-Marketing, planning and coordination
-Good interpersonal skills
-Fluent in English

Desirable experience:
-Social media marketing/prospecting/sales experience
-Basic knowledge of JavaScript
-Experience working with municipalities or government clients
-Experience in tech, and public and nonprofit sectors
-Interest in civic technology, open government, democracy
-Fluent in French

Contract details:

Part-time contract, 2-3 days weekly (approximately 20 hours), with gross yearly salary of CAD$17,500 and $20,000, depending on experience.
