YES, a non-profit community organization providing English-language employment and self-employment services is expanding and looking for a Communications Coordinator
If you are self-motivated and want to put your communication and marketing skills to work for a good cause, YES, is looking for an energetic, responsible, experienced individual.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Special Events, the ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in copywriting and communications with a proven track record of managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for content creation of marketing publications and advertisements such as magazine articles, annual reports, newspaper ads, and direct mail.
Responsibilities will also include:
Writing creative, attention-grabbing and effective web content, social media posts, brand/marketing collateral, presentations, surveys, training manuals and develop editorial calendars.
Conceptualizing, writing, editing, and project managing professional-level annual reports, newsletters, brochures, invitations, and other brand/marketing collateral
Writing press releases, articles, media pitches and talking points for spokespeople
Work with the graphic designer to discuss visual elements and finalize copy length.
Conduct internal and external research to generate the latest and most accurate content.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
Creative, with superior writing and editing and proofreading skills in English
Previous experience writing creative content, news articles, press releases
Excellent communications skills with a demonstrated ability to multitask and thrive in a fast paced environment
Strong administrative and software skills in Adobe Photoshop, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Ability to work on multiple projects and complete tasks with minimal supervision
A Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Writing, English, Journalism or Marketing
Photo-taking and video-creating skills is a plus
Must be highly adaptable and able to work in a team
Must be willing to work occasional evenings
Fluency in French is an asset
