THE JOB
Champion of our organisational values, the Roulant’s Director of Human Resources is up for just about any challenge. We’re looking for someone who can apply a strategic mindset across the human resource program, and balance great listening skills with positivity, persistence and a strong sense of organisation, and take on a variety of responsibilities ranging from developing a strong and engaged team to creating a productive, inclusive and healthy workplace. As the person responsible for maintaining the systems and processes of a collaborative and dynamic organisation, it’s an opportunity to support the well-being of our vibrant community of 20 employees.

THE REQUIREMENTS
2-3 years of education in human resources, business administration or management;
OR a combination of experience, education and training equivalent;
Experience using databases, HRIS, conventional office software and payroll processing;
Discretion, diplomacy and due dilligence;
Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications, bilingually in both French and English;
An excellect sense of initiative, problem solving and judgment;
Flexibility to be available outside of traditional working hours;

THE RESPONSABILITIES
-Strategize around sourcing, recruitment, selection, training and development, individual and group performance evaluation criteria and practices, succession planning and youth engagement, as well as enhancing culture, diversity, inclusion, and equity practices.
-Assess and propose shifts in strategy, the human resource life cycle and related processes.
-Manage the ecosystem of people and teams, supporting a collaborative, productive and fun working environment for staff. Setting organizational talent priorities, offering training and coaching support to all teams. -Manages conflicts and interpersonal challenges.
-Delegates work and builds consensus around workforce analysis and planning, hiring committees and decisions, remuneration, human resource programs like internship and training programs, and changes to other human resource management strategies.
-Implements, monitors and adjusts hiring, training and performance practice with and across program areas.
-Fosters relationships with youth training organizations, universities and community organizations in developing a candidate pool and our employer brand.
-Demonstrate stewardship on issues related to hiring, training, performance management, discipline, team building, conflict resolution, leaves, vacation, legal compliance, insurance, contracts and departures. Motivate with other directors for adequate resources to attract and retain talent.
-Consults the direction on important matters of governance, legal requirements, organizational leadership, accountability to the board of directors, the staff and the rest of the community of the Roulant.

THE PAY AND PERKS
The wage for this part-time permanent role (35 hours per week) is between $48,000 and $55,000 per year in accordance with our remuneration policy. All jobs at Santropol Roulant, whether seasonal, temporary, permanent, part or full-time, offer staff complementary benefits in addition to annual inflation-based increases: in addition to regular vacation time, paid time off for personal reasons, personal equipment allowances for some staff, and quarterly cash transfers to support leisure and investments. After three months in the role, staff are also admissible to our collective insurance plan. We also have leftovers in the community fridge sometimes and all the dessert you can eat (sometimes even brownies or cheesecake).
