EMPLOYMENT COORDINATOR
Summary of position
Under the supervision of the Adult Development Department Director, the Employment Coordinator prepares curriculum and class materials for the Employment Training Program, teaches and facilitates workshops targeted at the development of life skills, employment, and computer skills. In addition, she/he coordinates the program, maintains ties with community partners and promotes the program to the wider community. She/he participates as an active and effective member of the Adult Development Department team in a manner that enhances the delivery of Tyndale St-Georges’ programs and services while promoting its values and upholding its reputation in the larger community. She/he promotes a conducive environment for team work.
Tasks
Guide participants
Assess the participant’s needs
Develop and monitor an action plan for each participant
Refer participants to other organizations according to their needs
Assist with the vocational advising
Prepare material for workshops
Lead dynamic life skills, employment and computer workshops (Approximately 15 hours/week)
Follow participants’ progress
Administrate PPE project
Update employers database
Support Department Director in relationships with grant partner
Complete administrative tasks required by our funder associated with program
Prepare monthly program calendars
Maintain participants’ attendance log
Manage PPE project
Recruitment of participants
Help recruit guest speakers for workshops
Build links with potential employers for work/internship placements
Plan different activities for the program
Provide occasional program reports and statistics
Assist in supporting fieldwork students
Promote PPE project
Participate at various local committees and/or networking activities
Establish professional relationships with various employers/organizations
Raise community awareness about Center’s services
Support of Tyndale St-Georges
Assist in the promotion of Center’s activities and services
Participate in special events, meetings and other activities of Tyndale St-Georges
Skills and abilities
Establish and maintain professional relationships
Active listening/comprehension
Empathetic with strong communication & interpersonal skills
Fluent in English and good knowledge of French
Training and teaching skills
Time management/organization skills
Working with ethno-cultural communities

Workshop animation is dynamic and creates a favorable learning environment
Workshop participants find employment or continue to higher education
Content of workshops meets participants’ needs
Participants, fund partner, team members, volunteers and Adult Department Director are satisfied
Reports of the program are adequately completed
Problems are resolved efficiently and professionally
Education
Bachelor degree (or) College degree with relevant experience
Experience in employability, group animation, adult teaching or helping relationship
