THE JOB

This role assists the fundraising team implement fundraising strategies to engage with our network of financial supporters, to educate donors and financial partners around Fundraising for Social Change and the general principles of Community-Centric Fundraising. The work of this position centers around writing fundraising appeals, producing fundraising activities, campaigns and events, and communicating with our community on social entrepreneurship opportunities.

THE REQUIREMENTS

Some education (1-2 years) or course work in administration or data management OR a combination of experience, education and training equivalent

Knowledge of databases, conventional office software and spreadsheets.

Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications, bilingually in both French and English.

Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines

Artistic and creative ability an asset

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Secure the commitment of participation and donations of individual and corporate donors; identify and build relationships with potential donors, writing and sending letters of thanks and supplying tax receipts to each donor.
Participate in the development of recognition and relationship maintenance with our donors, funders and the connected activities with particular attention to our individual donors, as well as foundations and corporate donors on occasion;
Operationalize direct deposits, records, traceability and archiving in Salesforce (Moneris, Paypal, SimplyK, CanadaHelps, United Way, Benevity);
Coordinate rental and logistics for events as well as partnerships where needed;
Maintain data concerning our donors and partners in Salesforce;
Maintain relationships with individual and monthly donors to maintain their engagement in our community to the level that they seek, and to provide receipts to each donor;
Archive and organize fundraising documents, support the annual audit process and prepare engagement letters where necessary;
Support the direction with other administrative tasks, the preparation of minutes for team meetings, support during meetings, managing schedules, documentation needs and form submissions where requested;

THE PAY AND PERKS

The wage for this part-time permanent role (21 hours per week) is $16.63 – $17.46 according to candidate experience in accordance with our remuneration policy. All jobs at Santropol Roulant, whether seasonal, temporary, permanent, part or full-time, offer staff complementary benefits in addition to annual inflation-based increases: in addition to regular vacation time, paid time off for personal reasons, personal equipment allowances for some staff, and quarterly cash transfers to support wellness, leisure and investments. We also have leftovers in the community fridge sometimes and all the dessert you can eat (sometimes even brownies or cheesecake).
