La semaine des arts

La semaine des arts (www.artsndg.ca) is an artistic and cultural broadcaster based in the CDN-NDG borough that offers inclusive and democratic programming for the family, young people and cultural communities. From visual art to music, film and dance, La semaine des arts is a springboard for the local arts scene and a chance to demonstrate our international-class talents.

Role:

Under the supervision of the Communications director, the promotional and media relations coordinator will assist in executing the communications strategy, social media strategy, and managing promotional tools.

What you will do?

Promotion and Media:

-Assist in managing branding and all promotional tools (i.e.: Program booklet, visual posters, merchandise, etc.)
-Write and revise all press release and external communications
-Collaborate with the communications team to create a press kit for the festival
-Update the media contact list on Mailchimp
-Secure media coverage for the festival and year-round events
-Develop new media and outreach opportunities for the festival
-Act as liaison between journalists and the festival and its participants
-Media tracking by compiling press clippings
-Work with the Communications Director to plan an execute a comms strategy for the various activities of the festival

Social Media:

-Assists in executing the social media strategy
-Create a content calendar to produce and curate social media postings
-Community management
-Participate in keeping the website content up to date
-Creating and managing online campaigns (i.e. : newsletter,online ads, etc.)

Who you are?

-Excellent written and oral skills in English and French
-Strong communication skills
-Team player with strong interpersonal skills
-Self-motivated and able to work independently
-Knowledge or ease to work with social media tools: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Mailchimp
-Good understanding of Google Docs
-Organized and detail-oriented
-Ability to manage stress (During the festival)
-Practical and creative
-No 9-to-5 mentality
-Interest in Arts and Culture

A plus:

-Knowledge with graphic design tools (Adobe Design Suite-Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign)
-Experience in video editing softwares

Working Conditions:

-Salary, minimum wage
-Full time from June 4th to August 31st
-Start date: June 4th
-35 Hours/week, 5 days/Week leading up to the festivals
-Hours will vary and additional volunteer hours will be required during the festivals (Available evenings and Weekends)
-You must be registered to return to Cégep or University in order to qualify, this is a Canada Summer Jobs Programme.
