Curious about a completely natural form a birth control, free of drugs, devices and worry? Want to know how to determine when ovulation has occurred so that you can safely have intercourse without concern of pregnancy—or know your best time to conceive? Wondering about the effects of different hormones, and how reproductive cycles are intimately connected to the cycles and rhythms of our lives? The Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) is a natural and precise sympto-thermal method that helps offer a new perspective on cyclical changes, which can be helpful for determining the best time to conceive—or avoid pregnancy—and also offer insight into how these changes are part of our deeper sexual and creative expression. This introductory course will outline the basic notions of FAM, clarify misconceptions about the practice, and explain when it is and isn’t an ideal method.

1) History and exploration: stemming from ancestral healing traditions, the idea is to explore our intuitive and embodied creative voice through various grooves and rhythms, cultivating healthy cycles internally (inside our wombs) and diffusing that energy into our lives. 2) Beyond Kegels and twerking: sharing of knowledge and revealing of parallels across the gestation of ideas, projects, and movements broadly speaking; the regenerative property of our reproductive energy in community dance rituals. 3) Healing cypher: the creation of a safe space to talk about the place of trans (as an altered state of consciousness) and our body’s responses to various rhythms. This workshop will end in a mindfulness practice groove meditation where we create intentional spaces for healing around the Sacral Chakra: our connection to the community, creativity, the energy in shared spaces, sexual health, and confidence.

The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® are founded on the ancient Mayan technique of abdominal massage which is an external non-invasive manipulation that repositions internal organs that have shifted, thereby restricting the flow of blood, lymph, nerve and chi. The techniques address positioning and health of the pelvic and abdominal organs, and are best known for the correction of the prolapsed, fallen, or tilted uterus, for the prevention and treatment of benign prostate enlargement in men, and for relief of many common digestive disorders. Learn the basic anatomy of the abdominal and pelvic regions of the body, including the uterus and the dance it performs inside the body. Learn about the five flows in the body, their optimal alignment, and the role of massage, herbs, and sacrum-centred corrections.
