Location: 2365 Grand Trunk, Pointe Saint Charles, Montreal QC
Hours: 12 hours per week
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 2:30-5:30pm
Dates: January 8th 2018 – March 29th 2018 (excluding holidays and certain pedagogical days)
Possibility of extension until June 7th 2018
Salary: $14 per hour
Shadows are responsible for supporting the integration and inclusion of a child in our after-school program. Shadows will provide individualized interventions based on the needs of the child. Shadows are alert to group dynamics and assure an environment which promotes respect for diversity. The shadow will develop a supportive relationship with a child and their caregiver(s), and provide ongoing support, encouragement and follow-up.
Responsibilities
• Support the child in completing homework, as well as during learning and recreational activities
• Support the child in learning and practicing various skills, and in developing relationships with peers
• Support staff in adapting or modifying activities and means of participation as needed
• Lead discussions around difference with youth
• Develop and implement an individualized learning plan and/or intervention plan when needed
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the child during program hours
• Alongside the coordinator, communicate regularly with the caregivers of the child and include them in program activities, decision-making and interventions
