(Six weeks, 30 hours per week)
AIDS Community Care Montreal is hiring two summer students for six week contracts. Both positions are open to full time returning students:
Our Member Services Assistant will:
– Help the support services team organize and create a database of member information. This will include inputting past member files, organizing member intake notes, and collecting data based on members’ needs.
– Support the daily activities of the drop-in centre.
– Have a strong sense of confidentiality and its implications (you can word it better, but it is important for us to stress that aspect of work)
Our Development Assistant (Food Security) will:
– Work with our fundraising team to build partnerships with student groups, local businesses, and community groups working in the area of food security to enhance ACCM’s food programs, including our Buyers Club, Dinner and Discussion series, and emergency pantry.
– Research and write grants for ACCM’s food security programs.
– Solicit in-kind donations of food for our members.
Our ideal team mates:
– Have strong interests in HIV, sexual health, mental health, poverty reduction, food security, and community building. You want to help ACCM succeed in our work.
– Can demonstrate their project management experience. You’ve taken a great idea through to execution and evaluation.
– Work independently. You problem solve… but are never afraid to ask for help!
– Are fluent in English and French, spoken and written.
– Are fun! You’re dynamic team players who will bring energy to our organization. We are excited to work with you.
Most importantly, we are looking for people who want to gain experience in community work, fundraising, project management, and sexual health. Tell us about your interests in working for non-profits and community organizations. Though both positions are short-term, we promise you mentorship, opportunity, and inclusion within our fantastic team.
We look forward to hearing from you by May 16, 2017, though applications will be considered as they come in. Please send your cover letter detailing your experience with your CV to Cassandre Poblah at admin@accmontreal.org. You must be able to provide proof of full-time student status. This position is a short term contract for 30 hours at $11.25 per hour. Our offices are generally open 10 am to 6 pm, Monday through Thursday, but we are flexible in our work hours.
We encourage people living with HIV or hepatitis C to apply for this position.
