Are you an experienced youth coordinator who has the experience to help support the launch of a new youth initiative? The Youth for Youth Squad (Y4Y Squad) is an umbrella group being created to respond to the needs of English-speaking youth across the province. This volunteer group is self-managed but needs the support and guidance of a strong staff person to help them get to the next level.
Position summary:
The role of the coordinator will be to work with the Y4Y Squad to help them develop their mission and mandate, set up their structure, grow their network and develop an action plan that will include a variety of concrete deliverables. The coordinator will work with the group and a variety of stakeholders to ensure an inclusive process and a long term sustainable foundation.
We are looking for someone with:
-Experience in group dynamics, team management, community engagement, conflict resolution, project development, collaborative project conception and development
-Experience working with volunteers and managing committees
-Strong leadership skills
-Understanding of both the unique regional and urban issues facing youth
-Tech savvy – comfortable with social media and Microsoft Office
-Familiarity with the landscape, context, challenges and resources for the English-speaking community
-Well organized self-starter that respects timelines
-Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
Assets include:
-Bilingual
-University degree in a related field
-Involvement in community and non-profit sector
-Experience with board and incorporation processes
-Event Planning Experience
