Atwater Library and Computer Centre / Bibliothèque et centre d’informatique Atwater

Mission:
The Atwater Library and Computer Centre is western downtown Montreal’s community library, digital learning centre and community meeting place. We are a private, non-profit institution, with a history dating back to 1828.
We have deep roots in the past of Montreal, yet we are a modern, innnovative community resource centre. More than just books, we offer courses and workshops to help young and old master technology in the digital age, a state-of-the art computer centre, literary and educational events, meeting space for community groups, and much more.
We’re located in a national historic site officially known as the Atwater Library of the Mechanics’ Institute, near the corner of Atwater Avenue and Ste. Catherine Street.
We’re an independent library and a registered charity that is open to all and that depends primarily on private donations and volunteer staff. We welcome your support as a member, a donor or a volunteer.
