What We Do “In a Nutshell”
COCo’s mission is to support the health and well-being of community organizations in Quebec. One of the ways we do this is by supporting your organization in its health and development. This can include training on new skills, facilitating large or difficult conversations, helping you with a strategic plan, doing program evaluation, and more. We do so by using a made-to-measure, participatory, popular education approach to organizational well-being.
How Can We Help Your Organization?
COCo helps organizations through training, consulting and facilitation on a wide variety of topics, such as:
- Board of Directors
- Strategic planning
- Social media and communications
- Conflict
- Roles and responsibilities
- Human resources
- Fundraising
- Websites and databases
- Productivity tools
- Anti-racism and anti-oppression training
- Burnout and staff well being
- Annual General Meetings
- Evaluation
If your organization is looking for accompaniment on these topics or others, give us a call or shoot us an email at info@coco-net.org.
Getting Started
We believe that the support we offer to community organizations should be custom made. Each organization has unique needs and ways of working. In practice, this means that our first step will always be to talk with you and your organization to discuss your situation, your needs, and which strategies might be most appropriate for moving your organization forward.
Our Fees
The consulting services we offer range from one 3-hour training workshop, to several facilitation sessions over several months, to a year-long coaching relationship. Our services are offered on a sliding scale based on the annual budget of your organizations, and the number of facilitators required. Because each accompaniment is unique, and prices range from $300 to $10,000. In talking with you, we can give you a clearer sense of the cost of the work.
Our Approach
COCo is committed to collaboration and accompaniment with the organizations we support. When we are ‘walking with’ an organization, we prioritize capacity building, and supporting deep organizational change, over technical or expert-based consulting. Put more bluntly, this means we will rarely tell you what to do, but rather accompany your organization through a process of change or transformation. We are facilitators, more than we are experts.
We are also committed to anti-oppression internally, and strive to be an advocate for anti-oppression within the Quebec community sector. We strive to dismantle systemic oppression through our own practices and services. We are committed to creating leadership opportunities for grassroots organizations and marginalized communities within COCo and within the sector, because we believe that those most affected by problems are key to the best solutions.
We believe that creativity, fun, and an appreciative approach help organizations overcome challenges and discover new ways of being. We integrate play, creative-methods, and experimentation into our work.
