SCOPE OF THE POSITION
Reporting to the Clinical Supervisor, the incumbent acts as a clinical social worker/counselor for the Supporting Resilience Program (SRP) as part of our external services team. The program provides counseling and advocacy support to help mothers and children heal from the traumatic effects of an abusive relationship. The incumbent’s mandate will be to offer a range of support services to Auberge Shalom clientele. Main duties include trauma-and-resilience-informed counseling, case management, accompaniment, program development, advocacy, outreach and education and support groups.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent will co-pilot the Supporting Resilience Program. Specific responsibilities of the SRP clinical counselor include, but are not limited to, the following:
● Providing trauma-and-resilience-informed counseling services to mothers and children
● Crisis intervention and safety planning
● Telephone intake and support
● Participating in outreach and education in the community
● Providing psychosocial assessments and maintain records
● Co-facilitating support groups
● Advocating for and providing resources and referrals to clients
● Collaborating with team members
● Participating in the program’s development and growth
● Liaising with professionals and agencies
● Participating in team meetings, work planning, external committees and events

QUALIFICATIONS
● Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field
● Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with parents, families, children, community networks and professionals
● Holder of (or working toward) OPQ permit
● Demonstrated experience providing culturally sensitive services in a multicultural environment
● Knowledge of the Jewish community and its customs (asset)
● A specialization in trauma counseling (asset)
● Bilingual in French and English to better serve our diverse clientele

● Starting Salary: $32.09/hour
● Work Schedule: 28-35 hours/week with possibility of hybrid work model
