The  Comité d’action des locataires de l’Ouest-de-l’Île (CALODI) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote access to quality housing and improve the quality of life for tenants in the West Island. CALODI operates in the territory of the West Island of Montreal, which includes the municipalities of Pierrefonds-Roxboro, Île-Bizard-Sainte-Geneviève, Pointe-Claire, Dorval, Kirkland, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Baie-d’Urfé, Beaconsfield, Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, and Senneville.


Reporting to the board of directors, the director ensures the smooth operation of the organization, including tenant support services. He or she also conducts activities, research, and studies necessary for the development of the organization. He or she will be responsible for implementing the “Portrait of West Island Tenants” project, which aims to present the reality and challenges faced by tenants in the West Island.


Organizes the Board of Directors meetings, attends them, and ensures follow-ups;
Identifies issues related to the CALODI with the administrators and proposes to the Board of Directors strategic orientations, business plans, policies, budgets, development projects, and any other elements that will allow the organization to fulfill its mission;
Oversees the creation of an organizational communication plan;
Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates administrative and ongoing activities, ensuring that annual objectives are met;
Promotes and raises awareness of the mission and services of the organization and develops strategic partnerships;
Plans, organizes, and facilitates organizational events;
Acts as a spokesperson for CALODI and represents it in all environments, whether community, political, or private, as well as with the media;
Controls expenses, prepares annual operating budgets;
Ensures budget planning, financial management, and accountability to funders;
Manages human resources: ensures recruitment, hiring, integration, training, and enforcement of policies as well as a warm, respectful, and functional work environment;
Performs any other tasks related to his or her duties and the mission of the organization.


University degree in a relevant field;
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a leadership or coordination role in a member based organization, community organization or regional or provincial community table;
Experience in housing, community organization, advocacy, and/or non-profit organizations is an asset;
Excellent command of written and spoken French and English;
Knowledge of web conferencing tools, surveys, meeting planners, etc.;
Ability to develop strategies and work plans;
Works well in a team, collaborates with others, and maintains positive working relationships.

Working hours: 35 hours.
Start date: as soon as possible.
Salary: $29.76/hour.
Workplace: a mix of remote work and in-person work in the West Island.
