The Teapot aims to tackle the issue of social isolation and loneliness – which has profound impacts on the health and wellbeing of older adults from all walks of life.  The  Intervention worker works to diminish the risks of social isolation by assisting with intervention services.

Key areas of responsibility
Establish one-on-one relationships with older adults with diverse needs
Ensure 50+ communities of Lachine have access to food by coordinating and implementing shopping food service.
Support social integration of isolated older adults
Supervision and integrate volunteers within the programming
Intervene with complete cases and crisis intervention.

Job Conditions

Full time permanent position
8:30am to 4:00pm
Salary: 22.00 to 24.00

Diploma in Special Care Counseling, Social Services or related studies or equivalent work-related experience
Experience  in  group  dynamics and  interpersonal  relationships
Knowledge  of  and/or interest in community  resources, particularly  in older adults
Able to intervene in a complex situation
Good problem-solving skills.
Must be  computer literate
Experience  with seniors is an asset
Bilingualism essential
Curious to learn new skills, flexible and adaptable
An understanding of seniors with mental health, cognitive decline, and reduced mobility needs.
