You can learn more about Info-COCo here.

We’re excited to officially relaunch our information sessions on May 28th, 2025! After a brief pause, we’re bringing back this service with a refreshed approach that is still free, still accessible, and more aligned with the needs of Quebec’s nonprofit sector.

What Are Information Sessions?

These are short, one-on-one consultations, typically 20-30 minutes, designed to help your organization troubleshoot immediate questions or concerns. Whether it’s understanding nonprofit obligations or improving internal practices, these sessions provide accessible guidance tailored to your reality.

Importantly, these sessions are also a reflection of COCo’s broader mission. As an organization grounded in anti-oppressive values, we believe that accessible, responsive support should be available to all groups especially those doing important work with limited resources. Information sessions are one way we put this commitment into practice, meeting organizations where they’re at and helping them move forward with clarity and confidence.

Sessions can happen by email, phone or even by video call, depending on your need, comfort level and availability. We’re committed to making the format as flexible and accessible as possible.

Topics We Cover

Our information sessions span a wide range of areas, including:

  • Funding strategy and compliance
  • Human resources issues
  • Conflict management practices
  • Strategic planning
  • Project management
  • Community event organization practices
  • Collaborative facilitation practices
  • Evaluation practices
  • Governance and board roles
  • Drafting and revising bylaws
  • Technology planning and digital strategies
  • Digital tools and platforms for NPOs
  • Internal and external communications

We are not an organization with legal expertise, therefore, we cannot answer legal or immigration questions. We will share more appropriate resources with you if that’s what you need.

Not sure if your question fits? Reach out and we’ll do our best to help or point you in the right direction.

What to Expect

During your session, a COCo team member will:

  • Help clarify the issue you’re facing
  • Offer tailored information and resources
  • Recommend practical next steps
  • Refer you to further support if needed

These aren’t meant to replace long-term accompaniment, but they’re ideal for unlocking that next piece of the puzzle when you’re feeling stuck.

How to Get the Most Out of Your Session

To make the most of your time with us, we recommend that you:

  • Come with a clear question or issue in mind
  • Bring any relevant documents or background info (e.g., bylaws, policies, strategic plans)
  • Think about what kind of outcome would feel helpful such as clarity, a resource, a referral, etc.

How to Book

To request an information session, simply fill out our intake form. Let us know a bit about your organization and what you’d like to discuss. A member of our team will follow up to schedule your session in a way that works best for you—by phone, video, or email.

COCo’s information sessions are one of the ways we support the strength and sustainability of the community sector in Quebec. Let us help you move forward, starting May 28th!
