You’re invited to COCo’s 2018 Annual General Meeting!COCo’s 2018 AGM will take place on Tuesday, April 3rd. This year, our AGM is themed As far as the Eye Can Sea- a marine and maritime theme to celebrate the launch of our year- long research projet on diversity in the community sector, Diversité d’Abord! Every year, our AGM is an opportunity for community groups to come together, connect, and reflect. As always, we’ll be doing it with a dose of fun– in this case, in the company of Pirates, marines, fish, and who knows, maybe some merpeople! Register Here. |
Now’s the Time to Become a Member of COCo!As we are in the month leading up to our Annual General Meeting, we always want to make sure our community- organizations or individuals- knows that they can become a member of COCo. Becoming a member of COCo is a way to participate in the democratic functioning of our organization, as well as a way for you to demonstrate your commitment to our mission. As a refresher, COCo is a provincial non-profit that works to nurture an inclusive, social-justice oriented Quebec community sector where grassroots organizations can thrive, because we believe that is an important part of creating a more just and equitable society overall. We also use research and other sector development initiatives to steward dialogue and progress on issues of inclusion and diversity in the Quebec non-profit sector. Both organizations and Individuals can become members of COCo. |
COCo is Recruiting a new Board Member!COCo is a provincial non-profit that works to nurture an inclusive, social-justice oriented Quebec community sector where grassroots organizations can thrive because we believe that is an important part of creating a more just and equitable society overall. To this end, COCo provides training, accompaniment, and technological support to small, ground-up, social justice -focused organizations. We also use research and other sector development initiatives to steward dialogue and progress on issues of inclusion and diversity in the Quebec non-profit sector. Become a Board member at COCo means becoming a part of a community that is trying to build relationships and strength with organizations and movements for social change, and who understand that learning and growth are key to the health of the Quebec community sector. |

Social Media Trainings for Community Groups from COCoWe’re excited to announce that registration is now open for the 2018 edition of COCo’s social media trainings, Co-Clic-Co! For the past two years, COCo has been running a series of social media trainings, in French and directed towards Centraide-funded organizations. This year, we are launching the first series of trainings in English, open to any community group in Montreal. |
Funded by PSOC? The Program is ChangingOrganizations in health and social services in Montreal are getting together for a day of information sharing and discussion about the revision of the PSOC guidelines in Quebec. The ministry of health and social services is in the process or revising the PSOC program. Although their timeline is fuzzy, the coalitions of PSOC funded groups are getting together as soon as possible to talk about what this could, or should, mean. Read more. |

The Provincial Budget is Almost Here, and Community Groups Have One Last Chance to Be Heard!The provincial budget is close to being announced, and the coalition of community groups that has been leading the charge against cuts to social services and nonprofit organizations has one last day of actions planned for Montreal on Tuesday, March 13th. |
