Annual General Meeting season is approaching… and you don’t have to do it all on your own!
At COCo, we know that for many community groups—especially those working with limited resources, on a volunteer basis, or in isolated settings—preparing for and facilitating an Annual General Meeting (AGM) can be an enormous burden. Yet these moments are essential for fostering democracy, strengthening participation, and celebrating the collective work accomplished!
That’s why we offer AGM support and facilitation services designed with a caring, accessible approach tailored to the realities of marginalized and racialized groups.
We prioritize organizations:
- run and led by and for marginalized communities;
- Indigenous, Black, racialized, migrant, or LGBTQ2IA+;
- located in geographically isolated areas, and/or outside of Montreal;
- operating primarily through volunteer work;
- working with communities facing systemic discrimination;
- working with linguistic minorities;
- with a mandate of social justice, and/or radical social transformation.
Our support may include:
- facilitating an inclusive and participatory AGM and/or taking meeting minutes
- support with AGM preparation and agenda-setting
- support with hosting, group dynamics, and speaking turns
- creating a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible space
