Resources on Fighting Racism in Your Organization
In the midst of putting together our research project on racism in the Quebec community sector (see more on that here), not to mention a definite increase in requests from organizations looking to tackle racism internally and in their communities, we stumbled across this great website, Racial Equity Tools. It seems like the site is in fact a merger of 3 other websites addressing similar topics, and it’s pretty awesome.
There are a couple of reasons we love this resource. The website offers tool for a wide variety of contexts– for working on racial equity as individuals, as organizations, and with our broader community. It emphasizes not only how to begin this work, but also how to evaluate how it is going. The resources include storytelling, case studies, and conceptual information together under the same umbrella. If you want a great example, this 3 page document about an organization’s 2 year process around dismantling racism in their own organization feels both very familiar and very useful.
Check it out and let us know if you find any gems in there! We’d love to hear about what resonated for you.
