Tools for Addressing White Dominant Culture

Last year, we worked on adapting a new version of the “White Supremacy Culture” document. We’ve seen a lot of other groups play around with this tool, including a new resource from Partners for Collaborative Change.

Their document lines up the main characteristics of white supremacy culture and tried to imagine antidotes to those things.

One example of their proposed antidotes:

Instead of paternalism (no consultation or transparency in decision making, taking over campaigns, mediating and facilitating others), leaning into partnership (decision making is clear, affected parties are consulted, evaluations include staff at all levels, the leadership of frontline communities is respected and nurtured).

Check out their whole document for more ways to think about transformation in your organization!
